I took these photos in New York City at the beginning of the trimester at a church that we walked by. The church had these really beautiful windows, with colorful stained glass that you could see on the exterior. The first photo is of the front entrance of the building. It was hard taking a photo from this angle because the sun was shining from that direction and I didn't want any glare or exposure to take away from the church. The second photo is from the back of the church. I love the contrast between the two angles of the church. I really wanted to show the contrast from the blue sky to the building. In the blueprint image, I like how you can see the details of the glass at the forefront of the church.
I also took these images in New York City when I visited with my family. We were at the top of the Radio City building on viewing space. I really like how you can see the entire city and the differences between all of the buildings. There are a few large buildings right on front of the camera, but there are also hundreds of buildings that surround them that are seen in the picture. I wanted to show the entire city and to show how you're up in the clouds when you're in the buildings. It is cool looking at the contrasts between what the clouds look like in the different pictures.
These photos were taken from the hotel in NYC and on the ground right in front of the hotel building. I wanted to show a downward angle of some of the buildings as well as an upward angle looking up at the buildings. In the blueprint image, I think it is interesting looking at the detail of the porches of the hotel rooms. It is also cool that there is so much detail stretching through the photo. In the first photo, it is cool seeing the clear sky and the deep blue as a background for the bright buildings. Taking these photos was not the challenging because of their beauty and positions.
I took this set of images in Chicago when I was visiting my brother. I was walking by the houses where people were living. It is cool to see the different places where they live and the differences in lifestyles, which is what I wanted to convey. In the first images, you can see the lines where one home ends and the other starts and the different colors and materials of the apartments. In the second image, I was in my brothers apartment building taking a picture from across the street. You can see into the windows of their homes. It was hard in trying to make sure the picture was not hit by the sun.
These pictures were taken in New York City out of the hotel we stayed at. I wanted to show the beauty of the city and the sun that was shining through the pictures. I really like the first image because it makes the buildings look golden from the sun. I had to focus this image because I didn't want the sun to overpower the buildings or the photo. The second picture is a little darker from the shadows of the building. There is contrast between the plants and the tall buildings in the background. These photos were fairly easy to take because of the details of the buildings and the shadows.
